• December 1990: Dr. Moustafa Abdo was born in Egypt.
• Schooling: He began his education at Saint Fatima School, then moved to Nasr City Private School, and completed his high school studies at Al-Tarbiyah Roxy School, achieving a total score of 99%.
• 2007: Enrolled at the Faculty of Medicine – Ain Shams University.
• December 2013: Graduated from medical school with a Very Good with Honors distinction.
Career and Research Path
• 2011: Founded “Tabeeb El-Kheir” Association to develop Egyptian university hospitals and remained its president until 2015.
• 2015 - 2017: Worked as a resident psychiatrist at the Department of Neuropsychiatry at Ain Shams University, while simultaneously working at a rehabilitation center for patients with neurological and psychiatric conditions.
• 2017:
• Earned an M.Sc. in Psychiatry and Neurology – Ain Shams University.
• Joined Dr. Hisham Sadeq Hospital, one of Egypt’s leading psychiatric hospitals.
• Received the Dr. Adel Sadeq Award for Best Research by a Young Psychiatrist for his study on “Theory of Mind in Schizophrenia Patients,” becoming the youngest recipient of this award.
• 2018: Began his Ph.D. studies in Psychiatry at Ain Shams University, focusing on research about “Theory of Mind in Borderline Personality Disorder Patients and Its Relationship to Suicide and Quality of Life.”
• 2019:
• Started studying Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for Borderline Personality Disorder, enrolling in an intensive training program at the Linehan Institute (Seattle, USA) and completing further training at Masar Center in Egypt.
• Completed Part 1 of the Arab Board Fellowship in Psychiatry.
• 2020:
• Completed training in Motivational Interviewing Therapy.
• Passed Part 2 of the Arab Board Fellowship in Psychiatry.
